5th Annual Stair Climb Tampa

Swope, Rodante is proud to report on our participation in the American Lung Association’s Fight for Air – Climb Tampa on March 26, 2011. This is Tampa’s 4th year hosting the Climb and Swope, Rodante’s 3rd year participating as a team. 2011 was by far our best one yet!
Our 2011 team had 24 stairclimbers, including attorneys, legal assistants, administrative staff and family members. We were the third largest at the event. Swope, Rodante raised just under five thousand dollars, which gave us the title of Second in fund raising! Our team placed Third fastest……AND……FOUR of our climbers earned serious bragging rights. Out of over one thousand climbers, a significant amount of which were women, Stephanie Miles finished as Overall Fastest Female (6:05)! Congratulations also go out to Seth Bos (6:43), Rachel Wilde (10:31) & Jamie Preston (10:43) for placing in each of their respective age groups!

The Fight for Air – Climb Tampa is truly a unique event. Teams and individuals challenge themselves to reach the top of the Bank of America Building in downtown Tampa by climbing 42 floors to the top. The cause? Lung Disease. The Tampa event surpassed its fund-raising goal of $160,000, by providing $200,000 to the American Lung Association this year. On the Climb Tampa website, it explains through the generous support of volunteers, advocates and donors, the American Lung Association in Florida funds essential lung disease research, provides education and support programs to both adults and children and advocates for vital health issues.
The American Lung Association® is “Fighting for Air” through education, advocacy and research in support of their mission to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease.

We are extremely proud of our 2011 Stairclimbing Team and what each and every one of them managed to accomplish: making it to the top with their heads held high.
