Dale Swope and Angela Rodante were inspired by the restoration here at the Brewery and the renovations taking place all around Ybor City. They decided to save some of the casitas in the area that they held near and dear to their hearts. Instead of simply flipping and selling the refurbished houses, they lease the houses to responsible and creative tenants, as a way to help those families have respectable housing, and concurrently to bring good families back to Ybor City. Their hope is that both the business and the residential community will begin to flourish in Ybor City as the old houses and the sense of community are restored.
Our House on 12th Street
Our house on 12th Street underwent a total transformation. After replacing the roof, refurbishing with hardwood floors, and adding new appliances, we hope that we managed to maintain the simplicity and highlight the charm of this delicate home.

This house is probably our most extensive renovation to date. In order to restore this house, built in1903, we had to start by clearing a path through a treasure of antiques and trinkets from long ago. First, we discovered a pitch pump on the back porch previously used to pump water for the home. Next we tackled the inside. After we sorted out a couple of 80-year-old bathtubs, bottles of gin, trunks filled with newspapers of the past, and a Morris piano in need of just a little love since they discontinued making that brand in 1908, we discovered the true beauty of this old home.
