Ybor City Museum Society
The Ybor City Museum State Park holds a very special place in the heart of Swope, Rodante P.A. The state park includes a museum, garden, and several casitas. The museum provides both visual and oral exhibits, educational outreach, and is phenomenal location to hold special events.
Ybor City Museum Society relies heavily on the work of volunteers. The efforts made by society members to preserve important historical landmarks and to educate the community on Tampa’s rich history are much-admired by our staff. From the restoration of the precious casitas to the treasure of literature and art enriching our community daily, the museum society is applauded.

A passionate supporter of the museum society, Mr. Swope has been on the Ybor City Museum Society Board of Directors for the last four years, and is currently serving as President. During the 2006 Pizzo Award ceremony, Mr. Swope was awarded the Vicente Martinez-Ybor Award for promoting the vision and economic development of Ybor City by the Ybor City Museum Society.
