TAMPA, Fla. – June 6, 2022 – Last week, Swope, Rodante P.A. partner Brent Steinberg became board certified in appellate practice by The Florida Bar. Board certification is the highest level of evaluation by The Florida Bar of competency and experience within an area of law, and professionalism and ethics in practice. Only 216 of the more than 100,000 members of the Florida Bar have achieved board certification in appellate practice.
Mr. Steinberg handles catastrophic injury, insurance bad faith, legal malpractice and insurance coverage cases throughout Florida and Georgia, at both the trial and appellate levels. He has served as lead appellate counsel in cases at Florida’s First, Second, Third and Fifth District Courts of Appeal, the Florida Supreme Court, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Georgia Supreme Court, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit.
To achieve board certification in appellate practice, Mr. Steinberg met the rigorous requirements set by the Florida Supreme Court, including:
- the handling of at least 25 appellate actions and five oral arguments during the five years immediately preceding his application;
- favorable reviews by fellow appellate practitioners and members of the judiciary;
- 45 hours of continuing legal education focused specifically on appellate practice; and
- successful completion of a demanding six-hour examination.
Mr. Steinberg is the second board certified member of Swope, Rodante P.A., joining fellow University of Florida Levin College of Law graduate and Managing Partner Dale Swope, who has been Board Certified in Civil Trial Law since 1992.
