A devoted attorney and Florida native, Madison Mahaffy brings with her to Swope, Rodante P.A. a tenacity and strength of character that has served her well and catalyzed growth in her legal career. Ms. Mahaffy earned a Bachelor of Science degree in political science from Florida State University in 2016 and earned her Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law in 2019, graduating from both institutions with honors. Ms. Mahaffy is a member of the Florida Bar as well as licensed to practice before the Middle District Court of Florida and the Southern District Court of Florida.

While working on her Juris Doctor degree, Ms. Mahaffy served as Executive Forum Editor of the University of Florida Journal of Law and Public Policy. This quarterly law review focused on judicial decisions, law reform, legislation and other legal issues facing public policy decision-makers. She also served as Trial Practice Teaching Assistant and Vice President of Administrative Affairs for the John Marshall Bar Association.

Before becoming an Associate Attorney at Swope, Rodante P.A., Ms. Mahaffy worked as a legal intern at the Ninth Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office in Orlando and clerked at a Tampa-based corporate law practice. While completing her undergraduate degree, she also worked at a personal injury and criminal defense law firm where she gained valuable experience and knowledge that would prepare her for her work at Swope, Rodante P.A.

In 2015, Ms. Mahaffy completed the NASBA Center for the Public Trust’s Ethical Leadership Certification program, with the goal of better preparing herself to respond appropriately to any ethical dilemmas she may encounter in her career. Her memberships include the Tampa Bay Trial Lawyers Association, the Florida Justice Association, the Hillsborough County Bar Association and the Florida Bar.

Ms. Mahaffy is intensely passionate about improving the lives of those in need and giving back to the Tampa community through service and education. She is known for being extremely detail oriented and going above and beyond what is asked of her in the pursuit of justice.

In September 2019, Ms. Mahaffy joined the distinguished team of attorneys at Swope, Rodante P.A. where she’s able to put her considerable skills and resources to use fighting for victims of catastrophic personal injury and insurance bad faith. When she’s not practicing law, Ms. Mahaffy enjoys traveling internationally and practicing yoga.
