The Swope, Rodante Vanguard Award Selection Board is pleased to share that Bloomingdale High School senior, Danielle Arigo, has been selected as the 2018 January Student Athlete of the Month.
Danielle is a varsity soccer player for the Bulls and has been their team captain since her sophomore year of high school. She has been 2 time All Western Conference, 3 time back to back district champion, and 2 time regional semi-finalist. She was nominated by her coach, Heather Iverson, for her ability to use her leadership skills to overcome any obstacles.
A true example of a Swope, Rodante Vanguard Award Student Athlete of the Month, Danielle volunteers at the Special Olympics, Best Buddies, and at her church. Through her community service she’s accumulated over 120 volunteer hours! Even with her buys schedule, she has managed to keep a 6.2 GPA and is in the top percent of her class. Once she graduates from Bloomingdale High School, she plans to pursue an engineering degree.

The mission of The Swope, Rodante Vanguard Award is to celebrate outstanding high school student athletes and coaches throughout Hillsborough County.
REQUIREMENTS FOR NOMINATED STUDENTS
- Senior in a public high school of Hillsborough County
- Participate in at least 1 physical sport and have athletic achievements
- Volunteers for community service and/or community involvement
- Overcome a physical, personal, or mental hardship(s)
- Current overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Have plans for continuing education
