The Role of a Vocational Expert

A vocational expert looks at what you can and cannot do in an employment setting to determine if you are able to get a job. These experts are focused on assisting you with your disability or catastrophic injury and finding ways for you to join or rejoin the workforce. A vocational expert understands the relationship between your physical or functional limitations and the physical and mental demands that work requires. After looking at your limitations, age, education, and work history, a vocational expert will assess your ability to work and address your overall employability.
