The Case Profile
Dana needed Financial Stability for the Rest of Her Life
In 2000, the attorneys at Swope, Rodante P.A. received a call that a young girl had been severely injured by a dump truck. It was Dana, a junior in high school with only 17 years of age who was on the way to meet her mom for theme park pass photos. On the way to there, Dana was stopped at a red light and saw a full-size Mack truck was barreling toward her resting car at 55 miles per hour.
After the accident, Dana and her family were informed that she, as a result of the accident, was now a quadriplegic. The attorneys knew proving who was at fault was not going to be difficult, but they knew it was going to be difficult to find a way to get this young girl the financial support she would need for the rest of her life.

Keeping the End Goal in Mind
The team at Swope, Rodante P.A., led by Dale Swope, began working on the case and Dale dove deep to make sure they found a way to help Dana. The team wasn’t just looking for a way to be able to help Dana cover her most recent medical costs, they needed to make sure she was supported for years to come. Dana attended many of the proceedings herself and witnessed how the prosecutor continued to give excuse after excuse in an attempt to show how the accident was Dana’s fault. The team’s intense investigation led them to the evidence that would help recover the funds needed to financially support Dana for the rest of her life.
