Meet Asher Stoltzfus — a senior at Strawberry Crest High School and a standout scholar-athlete in baseball and swimming.
A thoughtful and disciplined competitor, Asher says what he loves most about baseball is the little things — where small technical adjustments can make the difference between a ground ball and a home run.
In 2025, Asher faced a major setback when he broke his right tibia and fibula. After months of recovery, he returned in just four months, qualified for the state championships in swimming, and is now back on the field preparing for a strong baseball season. The experience taught him not to take anything for granted and to be thankful for every opportunity to compete.
Throughout his journey, Asher credits his parents as his greatest source of support. Looking ahead, he plans to attend college to pursue a business degree, followed by medical school for physical therapy — a path inspired by his own recovery. As Asher shared, “If I had to go back and help myself through that injury, I would love every second of it.”
Asher’s dedication to his sport, academics, and community reflects the spirit of The Swope, Rodante Vanguard Award — an initiative created by two Tampa Bay law firms, Vanguard Attorneys and Swope Rodante P.A., to celebrate young people who rise above challenges and lead with heart.
Each month, one outstanding Hillsborough County student-athlete is selected to receive this honor, along with a $1,000 donation to their school’s athletic department — a reflection of both firms’ deep commitment to the community we serve.
