Date: January 8, 2013

Fulmer Helmets, Inc. has issued a recall of certain motorcycle helmets, models AF-80, AF-81, and AF-82, sizes medium, large, XL, and 2XL. It was revealed during testing that the affected helmets fail to conform to the impact attenuation, penetration, labeling, and retention requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 218, “Motorcycle Helmets.” Wearing a helmet that does not withstand standard impacting testing, may result in personal injury or death. The motorcycle helmet recall is expected to begin March 8, 2013. Owners may contact Fulmer toll-free at 1-800-489-2300.

Fulmer will replace any helmet or offer a reimbursement for any noncompliant helmet. Owners are encouraged to contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or go to www.safercar.gov if they have any questions or concerns surrounding this product recall.
