Neville Salmon Recognized with Swope, Rodante Vanguard Award

The Swope, Rodante Vanguard Award Selection Board is pleased to share that Middleton High School senior, Neville Salmon, has been selected as the 2017 November Student Athlete of the Month.

Partner Angela Rodante presented Neville with the award and a $1,000 check to be donated to the school on his behalf during a small after school gathering with his friends, classmates, coaches, and even some of his family members!

Neville is a three year varsity football free safety player and a track and field athlete as well. Last year alone he had 25 tackles, four forced sacks and caused four fumbles with one fumble recovery and one interception. Not only is he a dedicated football player, he is an outstanding track and field athlete. He never fails to be in top three spots during meets, including district and regional. He set a personal best for the 110M and 300M hurdles and setting a new record at Middleton High School. His JROTC sergeant, Robin Rutzke, nominated him for his selfless generosity to others as well as his dedication to pursuing what he wants.

A true example of a Swope, Rodante Vanguard Award Student Athlete of the Month, Neville helps with his neighborhood cleanup at home, at school, and at local business. He is always willing to lend a hand to those who need it. Although he stays busy, it doesn’t stop him from maintaining his 3.8 GPA. Neville has been looked at by several college scouts now, but he has a few colleges in mind where he’d like to pursue a sports medicine degree or possibly join one of the U.S military branches.

Congratulations and Good Luck on Your Future Endeavors Neville!
