Lisa Tanaka brings over a decade of litigation and appellate experience to Swope, Rodante P.A., where she focuses her practice on catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases. A passionate advocate for those harmed by the negligence of others, Ms. Tanaka is known for her compassionate approach, sharp legal insight, and relentless pursuit of justice on behalf of individuals and families facing life-altering loss.
Before joining the firm, Ms. Tanaka spent 12 years handling complex personal injury and appellate matters across Florida. Her experience spans trial and appellate courts, where she has built a reputation for strategic thinking and effective advocacy in high-stakes cases. She is admitted to practice in Florida, Georgia, Ohio, and Virginia.
Originally from Toronto, Canada, Ms. Tanaka earned a Bachelor of Science in Human Biology from the University of Guelph and an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University. She went on to earn her Juris Doctor from Stetson University College of Law, where she was an active member of the nationally recognized Moot Court Board. As part of the team representing Stetson in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, she competed internationally in Budapest and Vienna, earning Honorable Mention for Best Team Orals.
Lisa Tanaka was also awarded the Pro Bono Service Award for her dedication to community service and remains deeply involved in the legal community as a member of the Tampa Bay Inn of Court and the Hillsborough County Bar Association. Her personal ties to the Tampa Bay region, with family in Sarasota and St. Petersburg, strengthen her commitment to improving the lives of those she serves.
